UPDATE – By July 2018, the Playground Appeal had reached close to £26,000. With this money, we managed to install the entire adventure trail as designed, paint a mural, upgrade flower beds, refresh line markings and install our new football goal posts.
The improvements have transformed the playground and the adventure trail especially has proven to be fantastic in improving pupils’ agility, upper body strength and teamwork.
A huge thanks to all parents, pupils, businesses and so many people within and outside the Ferryhill community. We couldn’t have done this without you.
January 2018 – Ferryhill School’s Parent Council has launched a fundraising appeal to raise £85,000 to improve its run-down upper stages (P4-P7) playground. As we all know, the playground has not received any significant investment for many years and it no longer meets the needs of the growing number of children that attend the school.
Our Playground Appeal was launched on 18th of April and aims to raise money to transform the playground into a safe, stimulating and fun multi-functional play area for our pupils and the wider community.
We’ve worked with pupils to choose the right adventure trail obstacles, discuss ideas and get the design right. We’re now launching an appeal to help us make this dream a reality.
